Following the Tree Crops Conference there will be the highly anticipated Monday self-drive tour. This tour will encompass some of the best of the Wellington-Horowhenua Tree Cropper properties within the Hutt Valley and Otaki/Levin areas.

The tour properties in the Otaki and Levin area are all within a short drive of this year’s venue and include a wide range of smaller properties highlighting tree crops.

Further afield in the Hutt Valley visit Bushview, a 10.6 hectare property with three contours of flat, terraced and steep hill country, that has been developed over many years with extensive gardens with tree crops and parkland to see.  This property belongs to founding Association members.

You may have chosen the option to visit Eric and Annette Cairns’ property on the Sunday Field Trip, but on the self-drive tour there will be much more to discover. Observe their green woodworking, cruck framed shelter, oaks walk, oak grafting, forestry, other tree crops and their use of biochar.

Full details and directions to all the properties that can be visited on the Monday will become available during the Sunday of the Conference.
