Dr Adam Friend will talk about research that is ongoing at Plant & Food Research, where new production systems for pipfruit are under development that can achieve more than 150 tons per hectare. He will also discuss the evaluation of rootstocks for pear and kiwifruit. Adam is a plant physiologist at the New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research. Based in Motueka he works in a team trying to improve the yield and fruit quality of New Zealand’s temperate fruit crops
